North Korean Mafia
The North Korean Mafia is an organized crime syndicate that was founded in North Korea in 1946 during the Soviet Civil Administration. While it's unknown if the NKM operate in North Korea to this day, or if they even can, they are known to have major presence in Steam City's Koreatown district and Origin City. The mafia is divided into 3 main factions, the most notable one is the Woo Bum-Kon Crime Families, led by Woo Bum-Kon. The North Korean Mafia primarily operates within the North Koreatown sub-district of Koreatown. Not much is truly known about the North Korean mafia although they are heavily involved in Steam City's drug trafficking, human trafficking and arms smuggling criminal field. They are known to be "neutral enemies" with the South Korean Mafia.
The NKM Steam City branch was founded on June 17th, 1974 by a North Korean defector named Kim Young-guk. They began as a small street gang that eventually rose to power within the Koreatown district through various dealings with other criminal syndicates such as CRACK DEN, although CRACK DEN betrayed them in 2021 due to their positive associations with Alcohol. Tobacco. Firearms. in the heat of the 50%-A.T.F. Conflict.
In 1978, the Korean Conflict heavily involved the NKM after Ling Ding Peng, the leader of the South Korean Mafia was assassinated by Woo Bum-Kon. The conflict somewhat concluded in 1982 after they declared an armistice.
The Koreatown War in 2021 also heavily involved them as they were responsible for the assassination of Imaran Zakhaev, the leader of RUNPR on November 15th.
